is a program initiative created by Vernon "Dyverse" Wooten of Fatherhood Matters Inc. The program purpose is to focus and harness positive paternal influence on students suffering from poor grades, low self-esteem and/or behavioral issues within the public school system. Our initial focus is on elementary age children with intentions on serving middle school through high school students.
Participants create individual vision boards focused on career and personal aspirations. These vision boards act as an inspiration and reminder to students on how to visualize a goal and forge a pathway toward achieving it.
Fathers guide participants on identifying and developing a deliberate game plan to reach their expressed goal.
Fathers will review the varying learning styles of students in order to identify and strengthen the academic resolve of participants empowering them in understanding their most effective learning method.
Esteem building mentorship training consisting of role modeling accompanied by groups/team supports.
An introduction to theories/strategies of chess and how it can be applied to life. An interactive program project on the importance of decisions.
Fathers who have a particular job skill or other ability will share and present these skills to participants in an age-appropriate fashion. The goal is to introduce different careers and hobbies to participants to promote and demonstrate future possibilities.
